Ca'n Carol, work in progress
. The brief here is to renovate completely the kitchen and laundry room area, tying them up with the terrace while reroofing all that area. In addition the upstairs bathrooms are also being reformed.
. Some canvas got stretched over the roof area, protecting the builders who had to work under the most unbearable heat.
. Preserving some old tiles allowed for a nice mix, giving the new roof that weathered look.
. The new chimney's design is, in all aspects, faithful to the vernacular architecture.
. Shifting volumes and opening up the space now allows for the kitchen dining area to become the natural extension of the living room.
. The roof line was altered to fit a taller window, allowing access to a new terrace above the kitchen.
